Book this tour to have a fantastic walk in the enchanted medieval Gothic district of Barcelona, and to discover the best of Gaudi’s buildings and works of art!
This 4 hour walking tour of Barcelona will begin with your English-speaking private guide leading you to the so called “La Pedrera”, the other name for Casa Milà. Its most famous feature is its roof, where a nice view of the city will unfold in front of you. The roof is crowned with skylights, staircase exits, fans, and chimneys - your kids will love it for sure! Your trip will continue along the Paseig de Gracia, where you’ll see from outside the colorful Casa Batlló and the Block of Discord. Your child-friendly guide will also tell amazing stories about the rivalry between Gaudí and two other great modernist architects, Domènech i Montaner and Josep Puig i Cadfaich, who built their own buildings just next to Gaudi’s!
These three artists are known as the greatest architects of Catalan modernism. The next stop will be a visit to the medieval Gothic district of Barcelona, where you will be brought back in time. You will see Santa Maria del Pì, the old Jewish quarter, the Cathedral, the ancient medieval alleys and even what is left of the ancient Roman walls. The Gothic district is located on the site of old Roman ruins - you can get lost in its labyrinthic streets and small alleys which suddenly bring you into medieval squares. To entertain your kids the guide will let you inside a mask artisan shop - both kids and adults will learn about the antique local tradition of mask making! Discover the magic of Barcelona and build fun memories with the whole family.
